Potrebitsch and Jackson win Mallorca Olympic

The triathlon was extremely popular with a fast race in a very scenic route. Germany’s Georg Potrebitsch won the three way finish in 1:45.37, coming home 4 seconds ahead of Russian pro Dmitry Rostyagaev, with Clemens Coenen, also of Germany in third another 16 seconds back.

Heather Jackson was a dominant winner in the women’s race to win herself the top prize of 500 euros. Jackson’s winning time of 1:56.15 placed her 9th overall.

Multi-National Line Up at Mallorca Olympic

The Mallorca Olympic is shaping up to be a Multi National event.

12 nations will take to the start line for the first Mallorca Olympic, which plays host this year to the Balearic Triathlon Championships.

Competitors from Spain, England, Northern Ireland, Canada, Finland, Kenya, France, Germany, Russia, The Netherlands, Denmark and Itlay have already signed up for the race with a week to go until the entries close.

150 expected at start line for Mallorca Olympic 2011

150 athletes are expected to contest the Mallorca Olympic on 7 May, 2011, the host of the Balaeric Triathlon Championships.

The picturesque course is ideal for beginners and elite athletes on closed roads from Colonia Sant Jordi through Ses Salines and to the lighthouse at the the Cap de Ses Salines.

Is your bike road worthy?

It is important that you make sure that your bike is configured so that it fits you correctly and that it is in roadworthy condition.

We recommend that you have your bike serviced before you compete. This can be done by our official retailers. The referees will inspect your bike and if it is not considered to be roadworthy then you will not be allowed to enter transition.
